More than Just Error Correction

Revision is a process that occurs in every stage of writing. Pretext is also important when wrting about something because it includes evaluation, revision, and refinement of what you have been planning. Many theorizations say that revision is not only revising what you already have but also rethinking thoughts and ideas. Also many writers stated that when writing you should just write and think later. They stated that this made it easier for them to write. Also some writers felt that thinking about ideas and checking their work at the same time was too much to think about. A strategy that is also helpful is “rereading as a revision strategy” it can help by giving you more ideas to write. Also students stated that spelling was not their strong point. Revision is also helpful to avoid putting too much of one word in your paper. The comments of students help understand how they revise and feel about writing.

"Responding to Student Writing" Summary and Analysis

    Responding to students is what the teachers spend most  of their time doing. The reason why this happens is because it is best for the writer to have someone that can  give them opinions towards their writing. Although the student might be distracted by their teacher response and might not elaborate what they had their focus in. Some confusion might also arise by the comments that teachers make. If students were to only focus on what they have to fix instead of trying to make more of what they think the teacher wants. Students are confused by thee comments that they received because they are told to expand a paragraph more that throws them off to what their point really was. The way that the teachers make the comments the wording and everything is what confuses them. It is a risk for the student to go beyond to what they do think should change but they might just be better off to what their teacher tells them to do. A better way of response is what should be developed that students would not be confused and will still write their thoughts and ideas. Some teachers do make it clear that the student has done a good job in that the student is more comfortable in writing what they want instead of writing what they think their teacher wants.

Semester Topic Proposal

The topic that i will do research on this semester will be domestic violence. I will follow this topic because it is a very controversial topic when it comes to gender. Many people believe that only women are affected by domestic violence when in reality it is everyone men, women, and more than anyone children. I believe this topic will have a lot to say and there will be a lot of information that I will be able to retrieve.
